Early Humans Board Games

Today students played the board games they made in the theme of Early Humans (standard 6.1). Students did an amazing job summarizing the information we have been investigating the past month into Fun Games! Next up, they will take them home and play them with their families. Well Done!

Figurative Language Rap!

We have been going over the common figurative language terms including simile, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia, and more. After making a mini book of the terms with our own examples, students put it into a song.

Working in pairs, they composed a song, added music (VirtualKeyboard.com), recorded the song, then uploaded it on their figurative language power point to play back to others!
Well done Champions!

Cave Art!

We have started the year off learning about Early Humans (Social studies standard 6.1). Early man painted in caves, and young 6th graders made their own cave art.
After a VTS discussion on a famous cave painting image
and watching a cool video of famous cave paintings:

The End of the 2011-2012 School Year!

I am sad to see this year end as we had so many Champion students in room B9!

The end of the year included a Rome summary board game made by the students, a letter to their next years teacher, and a summary kite of what we learned on one side and students autographs on the other.
