Come Fly With Me! (Read 180 Intervention Class)
After an in-depth investigation of poetry, literary devices and reading a wide range of poems, students chose their favorite one to write an AVID One Pager Summary on. Instead of writing the summary on paper, we decided to write and draw them on kites. First, students assembled their kites following the technical directions (functional literacy), then they created their “master pieces”. Last step was flying them. What fun!
